Let’s make the city of Covina more
Affordable, Accessible,
and safe for Everyone.
The Issues
-
Affordability in Covina
Working Families should never have to choose between paying bills and skipping meals.
Rising housing and rental costs, grocery prices, and instability in basic needs due to federal legislation have led people to face unprecedented prices of goods. We, as a city, should provide adequate financial support and emergency funding for the most vulnerable in our community. Your councilmember is responsible for advocating to make your quality of life better, including affordability, and coming from a working-class family, I commit to doing just that.
-
Accessibility & Transparency
As an educator & former union member, I have always been a public servant and will therefore continue to promote accessibility for all people in Covina.
Accessibility and Transparency include business and investment disclosures of councilmembers and more avenues for the city council to connect with residents beyond general city council meetings. Additionally, transparency includes regular opportunities to meet with residents as a public servant to make more informed decisions as a councilmember.
-
Safety for all residents
All Residents should feel they belong in Covina, feel safe in all forms, hollistically, and be affirmed by their city leadership; regardless of race, ethnicity, citizenship status, sexuality, gender identity, income, renter or homeownership status, or age.
Safety and legal aid resources should be provided to immigrants, people who have been racially profiled, LGBTQ community members, employees, and mixed-status families, as well as small businesses that have felt the repercussions of ICE raids.
